When geeks fall for other geeks who love bad puns... @ 11:54 am

Hubby: You know, there's something in Final Fantasy VII that pairs every fictional character ever up together.
Omni: Huh? What do you mean? O_o
Hubby: In Final Fantasy VII. Something that makes every character ever have sex with each other.
Omni: The hell are you--
Hubby: Omni-slash!
Omni: ...
Hubby: What? That's hilarious!
Omni: *facepalm*

Out of state right now, posting using my phone. Will be back home in about ten days. This time I'm away on vacation, not work. Not sure how much time I'll have for writing, but I do have my laptop. Probably won't really have much of a chance to get on it.

My iPhone has aol aim, and (obviously) the Internet. So, I hopefully won't get too out of touch with the goings on of fandom.

Oooohhh...so THAT's where we get "mesmerize"... I uh...knew that. >_> @ 08:50 pm

Current Mood: bored

A coworker's mother was getting rid of a lot of her movies, and sent three Alan Rickman films my way. I eagerly accepted them, with much rejoicing.

So, today I watched Mesmer, which was...alright. As far as plot and such goes, the movie was rather lacking. But, dear GOD, Rickman made up for it. The sensuality that that man exudes is unbelievable. Why do all of the new male stars lack that? Tis a shame, really. The new generation of actors is so very bland.

Anyway. I'll be heading out of town for yet another convention. This one is Anime Expo in LA, California. I've never actually been to Cali before. Farthest west I've gotten is Utah and Arizona, which are...close, but not quite there. Not that it really matters, because convention work does not usually allow for much sight-seeing. All that I saw of Chicago was the view from the van window as we drove through. That's probably also the kind of view I'm going to get of LA.

When I get back from that, I've got The Patronus Series to work on. Also have another thing in the works, which will probably be a one-shot. I don't think there's any other loose ends fic-wise aside from that, though. Unless I'm forgetting something...and I can be quite forgetful. >_>; Well, I mean, I know there are several WK fic arcs that haven't been touched in a while and desperately need me to finish them... But Snupin-wise, I should only have those two things. I'm fairly certain, yes... Hm.

I hadn't planned on bringing my laptop with me to LA, but I just might. Not that I usually have much energy to do anything in the evening after crawling back from the dealers' room, but still...

Gone with the Wind to the Windy City @ 09:07 am

Gone to Chicago to work at some anime convention or something (don't even know the name--I'm awesome like that). Only posting a notice here because it's my only journal that's not friends-locked, so I figure if there are any random people who are wondering why that odd Omni girl has fallen so silent for days on end, they could check here and find out. I mean...if it's even something noticeable. I dunno.

I'm sad that I won't get to work on my Darkside fic while away, due to my laptop being rather dead and in the hands of a friend who claims he'll fix it. I quite like what I've got so far, and the story keeps growing and becoming more elaborate in my mind.

Anyway. Boss should be arriving any minute to pick me up...

As the title suggests, these are BL manga recs specifically for [info]red_day_dawning. But, if anyone else can benefit from them, great!

This is only part one of the recs. I still have a few hundred more files to look through... I will be out of town this weekend, so part two will come sometime next week.

On to the recs! )

Current Mood: calm

This semester is finished. I'm pretty much done with my undergrad schooling except for an acting class this summer.

So. I can breathe again. I have free time again.

Fic (for both WK and Snupin) and (Snupin) art to come soon! No, seriously.

You're So Damn Hot --Part 5 @ 06:45 pm

So I know it's like way later than I said it would be (I got distracted by reading the Harry Potter books for the first time ever), but...here's the update for "You're So Damn Hot".

Click here for an entire chapter of porn

No, this is not work safe.

No, it's not the end when I thought it would be.

Yes, there is some emotional sap hidden amongst all the smut.

No clue when or what the next thing to be updated will be. >_>

AYSN? part 7 (END!) @ 09:28 pm

The final chapter of AYSN? is done!

Click here to open a new window and read!

Whew. Now I just need to start work on its follow-up arc... >_>

But see, I told ya I'd get another fic updated soon. Yes, I know I say that a lot, but this time I really meant it! The next one to be updated will probably be YSDH. Expect it tomorrow or the next day. I'm in the zone, yo.

PS: Ken and Crawford will get tons more screen time in the follow-up arc. So will Farf, who is sadly only mentioned by the end of AYSN. I'm quite eager to start it, but I want to try to update some older fics, first (maybe even finish one or two).

Oh, and [info]bewsbud, ignore Yohji's perception of Aya. This Aya is more like what you see Aya as, I think. Yohji just doesn't know it yet.

This didn't go quite as I had planned, but whatever. I consider this a only mildly important chapter. Important because it establishes some type of relationship between them, but only mild because it's not much to do with the actual plot I have planned. I just...need them to be fucking by the time the real shit starts happening.

But yay! I finished a chapter of something! More fanfic updates to come soon, considering I've nothing else really to do except chill in the hotel room and write. Heh.

Name change! @ 10:07 pm

Just a quick note for everyone, so that no confusion arises. This account has been officially renamed from omni_sama_ to omni_fabulae. Why? Because the extra _ at the end caused confusion and false linking in the past. There's already someone who has the omni_sama username, so yeah. This will hopefully cause less confusion. Hopefully. Playing on the Latin part of my pen name, I've called it omni_fabulae because fabula(ae=plural) means story/drama/tale/etc. So, it should translate to "Omni's stories". Then again, I haven't had Latin in like six years or something, sooo... >_>

Lj should instantly have it changed on all of your friends lists, and if someone does attempt to find my journal via omni_sama_, it'll redirect them here.

Just a little longer... @ 12:46 am

I have finals this week. Should be finished by Weds. Then I'll be flying up to CT to spend time with my fiance who's up there on business. Since I won't have a car, and he'll be using the rental, there will be a great deal of free time in the hotel while he's off at work. Sooooo... Farf my laptop will be joining me, and maybe I can finally finish some fanfics! Woo!

Speaking of... While procrastinating from doing my take-home finals and studying for the in-class ones, I worked some on AYSN this weekend. It only has a few more pages left, I think. Part of me really, really wants to do the follow-up arc for it that I've been brainstorming on, but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Mostly because of the cliche I'll be dealing with (which, as I think I said on here before, I can't tell you or else it'll spoil this next chapter). Cliche aside, though, I'm also very tempted to make the next arc have Schu get to play with Aya and Yohji (as in Yohji sandwich, folks). But I shouldn't do that, since AYSN is all about how Yohji still loves Aya even though he's lost his memory and blah blah love conquers all yadda yadda sex. It's just that as I work out the next arc in my head, somebody *glance at Schu muse* keeps illustrating a very vivid and tempting image of my favorite threesome. So, the temptation is great. I probably won't really give in, though. Maybe I'll just write a smut fic of the three together. Just to get it out of my system.

Aaannnnd speaking of smut... YSDH's next chapter is also almost done. While I thought this would be the last chapter, I think I'm going to give it a few more. Oh, and this chapter is nothing but porn, pretty much. Wee!

But I really want to get some of these fics finished, because there are a few others that have been pecking at me. Like, I want to do a sort of film noir-esque one with Yohji as a PI. A sort of alternate reality where there is no Kritiker. Yeah, again, it's a concept that has been done before by many people--the no Kritiker thing. But I don't think it's been done quite like this. Yohji, the once-great PI but now somewhat of a mess after Asuka's death. Ken, the soccer pro who owes Yohji after the PI cleared his name, and becomes the only real friend Yohji has left. Ran, the femme homme fatal--the beauty that comes to Yohji for help and whom Yohji falls for, but turns out to be more than what he seems. Mamoru, the only Takatori that Ran trusts, Police Chief Takatori's son (yep, his dad marries his mom in this, who is Reiji's ex-wife instead of dead). Aya-chan, the kidnapped sister. Asuka, who's not really dead (gasp!). Schuldig, the sexy German bastard. And more! Yay!

I also want to do a very silly one that I probably won't go into here as far as the concept because I'd feel...well...silly.

Ok, I think I've rambled enough. Time to get some sleep so I can be fresh and awake for finals tomorrow. Joy.

Should have bought vol. 4 of Eternal Sabbath instead... @ 02:50 pm

So, I usually read my gay male erotica fiction on the net (and not just fanfic, mind you, but original works written by both men and women). Yesterday I bought a book at Borders that was in the graphic novel section, despite it not really being a graphic novel. I'm sure that many of you know what I'm talking about--those BL novels written by Japanese ladies that will have the occasional illustration page done in manga style, but the entire book is really actually a novel. Yes, one of those. I just finished it a little while ago, and I felt the need to type out a review, in case any of you like-minded f-listers may get a little curious about trying one of these out.

My lj is filled mostly with excuses @ 03:57 pm

Blame bl manga for the incredibly long delays in chapter releases. I get far too distracted reading manga in my free time, so that I haven't been able to work on writing very much. Well, I did write some of AYSN in class the other day. Will probably work on it some more today between taking notes as well. Hell, I think I'll probably work on it some after I finish with this post, actually. Don't know if I'm going to do the beta thing for this chapter. I maybe should... But RQ's not feeling well, and one of the other people that betaed for the last chapter is also not well. Plus I'm impatient to just finish this because I want to start on the next story arc for it while the ideas are still relatively fresh in my mind. Ah well... Maybe I'll use betas on that arc.

YSDH is also nearly complete. As it's going, it looks like the entire chapter will be nothing but sex. >_> But I've attempted to add some humor into it, too. Hopefully the two will work well together. Heh.

I keep getting stuck when writing Skeleton Jar. There's a few elements I need to iron out before I can go any further. I want the story to flow well and not be choppy and improvised.

I was planning to post teaser sneak peeks of AYSN and YSDH in this post, but... After looking over what I have, I think just about anything I post would be a bit of a spoiler. So, I'll just have to hurry up and finish the chapters so I can post the whole things. Yes.

Heart Thief! @ 04:34 pm

Ok, this goes out to everyone on my flist, but especially to [info]fieryredqueen, because I promised her a few days back that I'd try to make something to cheer her up.

A winner is not me @ 04:07 pm

Hahahaha...I failed. The days leading up to my return to school were filled with friends and work. So, no time for fic writing. Since school has started back, however, I've been working on fic between and during (shame!) classes. I've got about 8-10 pages of AYSN's most recent chapter left to go until it'll be ready for the betas.

No telling when or what the next fic update will be. It is, after all, just my fun little hobby. School and life obligations take priority. ^_^; Heh. But it would be pretty great to just sit all day writing.

January 2nd, 2007

I resolve to update fic more...? Maybe? @ 01:31 am

Ganked from [info]bewsbud

In 2007, omni_sama_ resolves to...
Ask my boss for a dirge.
Stop breathing with nyrelis.
Give up mysteries.
Put fifty bunnies a month into my savings account.
Buy new wolves.
Give some horror movies to charity.
Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

Because dying orphans in third world countries need horror movies too, goddammit!

School starts back next week. Let's see if I can update at least two fics before that! Ooo...self challenge!

This is totally stolen from [info]fieryredqueen, who stole it from someone else. Also...this is way harder than I thought it would be.

"list of the ONE character from each fandom that I always smile for and look for in each scene, episode or panel. The one who, even knowing they're in the chapter -- even just in the background -- makes me happier. Just ONE. No cheating and adding extras either."

Ze List! )

Hope everyone has a very merry (insert whatever holiday you celebrate here)!

December 17th, 2006

Time to finally take a breath @ 03:35 pm

All my finals are done, so I'm not nearly as busy as I was before. So, this means I can work on writing and stuff again! Yay, stuff!

I've started on the next chapter for Skeleton Jar, so I might actually sit and work on that now that I have more time.

The next chapter of AYSN is probably about half done... :/ And, while I had thought that this would be the last chapter, it looks like there might be one more after this. And also...a sequel series. Because, while it was not my intent when I started this, I seem to have created a monster that never really wants to end. See, originally, it was going to go much differently. It was going to be sort of The Graduate-esque in that Ryou was going to actually be about to marry Asuka. Then, he was going to see Ran like through a window at the church or something, apologize to Asuka, and run out. Then, even though Ran was already in the process of leaving, Ryou was going to catch up with him, they would kiss and embrace and live happily ever after. The end.

But, things didn't quite turn out that way, did they? Ryou found out the truth about who he is, started going by Yohji, has no intention of marrying Asuka, and is now being taken by Schuldig to "somewhere important"... And Schwarz suddenly has a much larger role in things, where as they weren't even originally in the story I had plotted out in my head. In all honesty, while this is turning out to be far more complex and lengthy than originally planned, I think it's probably a hell of a lot better as far as storyline goes. The original idea is probably way more trite and crappy. I mean, seriously...happily ever after? Things aren't that easy for these boys.

Scenes from the sequel series have already started forming in my head. Doesn't mean any or even all of them will make it into the series, but it does mean ideas are developing. I even have a name for the next arc, which perhaps is getting ahead of myself...but still. The only thing is that there are some elements of the next arc that have been done before, so it makes me a little hesitant. Then again, AYSN is not exactly based on a new concept, either. Since the release of Gluhen, there have been many fics centered around Yohji's amnesia and how he and Aya get back together... It was my challenge to attempt to present the story in a reasonably new way. I'd like to think I managed this, but I'm not so sure. I won't get into what potentially cliche element the sequel arc deals with until AYSN is finished, otherwise it would be a huge spoiler, but... Yeah. I'm going to have to do my damnedest to make sure that the sequel has a fresh spin on a not-so-fresh concept.

Then again, if you think about it, that's what fanfics always have to deal with. There's only so many ways authors can write the characters (no matter what fandom) interacting and falling for each other. There's some level of restriction within the confines of trying to write them in character or as something that flows well with the series they come from. Granted, there are usually great liberties taken with the characterizations and situations, but some restrictions do remain. I don't know if that's part of why I like fanfic so much... It's a challenge to keep it interesting, and challenges are fun.

November 25th, 2006

(no subject) @ 04:06 am

So, I was in a writing mood, but am way too tired/out of it to be coherent enough to work on one of my real fics. So, instead I did this mini-fic...thing. It's Aya's POV, and totally not related to any of the current fics in progress (so, it's not an "Aya's View" mini-fic).

Title: Complications
Rating: R
Warnings: Strong language, talk of sex
Pairing: Aya + Yohji (or would it be Yohji + Aya?)
